BMW, MINI & Volkswagen Group Specialists
Unlock supported features and personalise the way your car looks, feels and behaves. From everyday convenience settings to battery registration, retrofit coding and advanced configuration, all work is carried out at our Broadbridge Heath workshop.
Coding starts from £60, or choose up to five compatible features for £120. Availability depends on the vehicle, production year and installed control modules.
Popular Coding Options
Coding allows us to adjust supported factory settings without changing the physical specification of the vehicle. Choose individual features or combine several changes into one coding package.
Feature availability is vehicle-dependent. The options available will vary according to the model, production year, equipment and installed control modules. Send us your registration number and requested features so we can check compatibility.
Simple, Transparent Pricing
Choose one individual feature or build a complete personalisation package. We will confirm compatibility and the final price before carrying out any work.
Single Feature
Ideal when you want one straightforward supported feature activated or adjusted.
Coding Package
The best-value option for customers wanting several compatible personalisation features.
Remap Add-On
Add vehicle personalisation while your car is already with us for an engine or gearbox remap.
Battery Registration
Registration and coding where required
Advanced Coding
Laptop-based or module-specific work
Retrofit Coding
Coding for compatible installed hardware
Vehicle Coverage
We provide coding and personalisation for selected BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Škoda vehicles. The examples below show our primary areas of coverage.
BMW Group
Coding support for selected generations, including comfort, lighting, display, multimedia, battery and retrofit functions.
Selected E, F and G-Series vehicles, depending on the installed control modules and software.
Selected R and F-Series MINI models with compatible control units and equipment.
Volkswagen Group
Coding, adaptations and supported personalisation across selected Volkswagen Group platforms and control modules.
Selected Golf, Polo, Passat, Tiguan, Transporter and other compatible models.
Selected A, Q, TT and other compatible Audi models and platforms.
Selected Ibiza, Leon, Ateca and other compatible SEAT models.
Selected Fabia, Octavia, Superb, Karoq, Kodiaq and other compatible models.
Vehicle badge and model alone do not guarantee that a feature is available. Compatibility depends on the generation, build date, existing equipment, control modules and current software. Some functions may require additional hardware or may not be supported by a particular vehicle.
How It Works
We check your vehicle and requested features before the appointment, then complete and test the agreed changes at our Broadbridge Heath workshop.
Send us your registration number, vehicle year and the features you would like activated or adjusted.
We identify the vehicle generation and assess whether the requested features are likely to be supported by its equipment and modules.
At the workshop, we carry out a pre-coding scan and retain the original vehicle configuration wherever the platform allows.
We apply the agreed changes, rescan the vehicle and demonstrate the completed features before handing the vehicle back.
Send your registration number and requested features. We will confirm the most suitable package and appointment time before booking.
Compatibility & Feature Guide
Explore the main BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, CUPRA and Škoda models we can assess for coding. Open a brand to view the model years, generations and commonly available features.
This is a coverage guide, not a guarantee of every feature. The final options depend on the exact build date, factory equipment, control modules and software version. We confirm compatibility from your registration number and a vehicle scan before making any changes.
BMW note: Alarm-dependent functions require a factory alarm. Some display, sound, camera and lighting features require the correct factory hardware. Start/Stop coding may be ignored by certain newer software versions.
MINI note: R-Series and F-Series cars use different control units, so the available options are not identical. New-generation 2024+ MINI models require an individual compatibility check.
Volkswagen note: Golf 8, ID models and other MQB Evo/MEB vehicles from around 2020 may use SFD protection. Many 2024+ vehicles use newer SFD2 security and may have limited coding access.
Audi note: Driver-assistance changes require the correct factory camera, radar and control modules. A3 8Y, Q4 e-tron and other newer models may use SFD; many 2024+ cars may have SFD2 restrictions.
SEAT/CUPRA note: Leon KL, Formentor and Born commonly use SFD protection. Factory driver-assistance equipment must already be fitted, and many 2024+ cars may have SFD2 restrictions.
Škoda note: Octavia Mk4 and Enyaq commonly use SFD protection. Factory assistance functions require the correct hardware, and many 2024+ vehicles may have SFD2 restrictions.
Send your registration number, model and the features you want. We will check the vehicle and confirm what is possible before your appointment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to some of the most common questions about compatibility, appointments, original settings and retrofit coding.
Most straightforward coding appointments take approximately 30–60 minutes. Advanced coding, fault investigation and retrofit work may require longer. We will confirm the expected appointment time before booking.
No. Feature availability depends on the vehicle’s generation, build date, existing equipment, software and installed control modules. Some features may also require additional hardware. Send us your registration number and requested options so we can check compatibility first.
In most cases, yes. We retain the original vehicle configuration wherever the platform allows. A return-to-original coding service is available for £60.
It can. A manufacturer or dealer software update may reset, overwrite or change previously coded settings. If this happens, the vehicle may need to be checked and coded again.
Not unless this has been included in your quotation. Retrofit coding covers the software configuration required for compatible installed equipment. Any parts, installation, wiring or additional diagnostic work will be quoted separately.
No. Vehicle coding adjusts supported settings and functions within the car’s existing control modules. Remapping recalibrates the engine or gearbox software to change areas such as power, torque, throttle response or transmission behaviour.
