Vehicle badge and model alone do not guarantee that a feature is available. Compatibility depends on the generation, build date, existing equipment, control modules and current software. Some functions may require additional hardware or may not be supported by a particular vehicle.

How It Works

A Straightforward Coding Process

We check your vehicle and requested features before the appointment, then complete and test the agreed changes at our Broadbridge Heath workshop.

01

Send Your Details

Send us your registration number, vehicle year and the features you would like activated or adjusted.

02

Compatibility Check

We identify the vehicle generation and assess whether the requested features are likely to be supported by its equipment and modules.

03

Scan & Backup

At the workshop, we carry out a pre-coding scan and retain the original vehicle configuration wherever the platform allows.

04

Code, Test & Demonstrate

We apply the agreed changes, rescan the vehicle and demonstrate the completed features before handing the vehicle back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Vehicle Coding FAQs

Answers to some of the most common questions about compatibility, appointments, original settings and retrofit coding.

How long does vehicle coding take?

Most straightforward coding appointments take approximately 30–60 minutes. Advanced coding, fault investigation and retrofit work may require longer. We will confirm the expected appointment time before booking.

Can every listed feature be added to my car?

No. Feature availability depends on the vehicle’s generation, build date, existing equipment, software and installed control modules. Some features may also require additional hardware. Send us your registration number and requested options so we can check compatibility first.

Can the original settings be restored?

In most cases, yes. We retain the original vehicle configuration wherever the platform allows. A return-to-original coding service is available for £60.

Will a manufacturer software update remove the coding?

It can. A manufacturer or dealer software update may reset, overwrite or change previously coded settings. If this happens, the vehicle may need to be checked and coded again.

Does retrofit coding include supplying or fitting hardware?

Not unless this has been included in your quotation. Retrofit coding covers the software configuration required for compatible installed equipment. Any parts, installation, wiring or additional diagnostic work will be quoted separately.

Is vehicle coding the same as remapping?

No. Vehicle coding adjusts supported settings and functions within the car’s existing control modules. Remapping recalibrates the engine or gearbox software to change areas such as power, torque, throttle response or transmission behaviour.

Still unsure whether a feature is available? Send us your registration number, vehicle year and a list of the options you would like. We will check the most suitable route before arranging an appointment.
