What Exactly Do We Modify in Your Vehicle?
We do not alter any physical hardware in your vehicle. Instead, we modify the operating parameters within the ECU’s program, also known as the ‘map’. This map, which controls how your vehicle operates, is typically accessed via the on-board diagnostics port (OBD) located under the dashboard. For newer models, it may be necessary to physically remove the ECU from the vehicle and open its casing to access the map directly from the processor using specialised tools.
Once we have access, our technicians will download the original map and send it to Viezu, our map writing supplier, who will then adjust the parameters to optimise performance, fuel economy, or a balanced combination of both.
